Binary Subspace Chirps (BSC) generalize the codebooks of Binary Chirps (BC) in N = 2^m dimensions. BSC codebooks have the same minimum distance as the BC codebooks, while the cardinality is asymptotically 2.384 times larger. In this talk we will discuss algebraic and geometric properties of BSCs viewed as Grassmannian codebooks, along with their applications in machine-type communications. Afterwards we will discuss strong connections with Reed-Muller codes, rank-metric codes, and quantum computation.
