Arithmetic deformation of line bundles

We introduce a new method to study mixed characteristic deformations of line bundles. In particular, given a sufficiently large family of smooth projective varieties defined over a ring of integers, we produce an explicit proper closed locus in the base outside of which all line bundles defined on positive characteristic fibres lift to a line bundle on a characteristic zero fibre. Joint work with Ziquan Yang.
