Abstract: Uni-trivalent graphs appear in knot theory in a number of different ways. These graphs usually appear together with a product or coproduct structure and a boundary operator, and are considered modulo certain relations. Knot invariants correspond to homology classes in appropriate graph complexes. I plan to describe several settings in which geometry and topology of knots lead to graph complexes, and discuss the resulting algebraic structures.
