Zeckhauser's law states that "sometimes things that should not work, work nevertheless." I will discuss some surprising extensions of Hodge-Riemann relations, the Hard Lefschetz theorem and even just numerical phenomena beyond classical algebraic geometry, how to prove them, and present some of the applications.
