8th Strasbourg/Zurich - Meeting: Frontiers in Analysis and Probability

November 28 - 29, 2019 in Zurich

Organizers: Prof. Nalini Anantharaman (Université de Strasbourg), Prof. Ashkan Nikeghbali (University of Zurich), and Prof. Benjamin Schlein (University of Zurich)

Venue: University of Zurich
Main Building (KOL-G-212), Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zürich

The friendship between Strasbourg and Zürich has a long history, testified by the episode of the Hirsebreifahrt in 1456. The purpose of our joint seminar is to strengthen and develop further the links between Strasbourg and Zurich, two cities with a long history and tradition of mathematics.

This seminar will be more specifically devoted to mathematics at the frontiers of analysis and probability, covering topics of high current interest such as spectral theory, stochastic processes and random walks, dynamical systems and ergodic theory, random matrices, quantum chaos or Anderson localization.

Once a year, in Strasbourg or Zürich, the meetings will be dedicated to a particular topic (taken in a broad sense) and will be an opportunity to follow the latest developments by leading experts.

This eighth seminar is dedicated to random graphs and surfaces.
