Algebraic number theory meets physical layer distributed storage

I will show how to construct space-time codes from cyclic division algebras and their orders for multi-antenna wireless communications. In particular, I will focus on the multiuser scenario, where multiple users are simultaneously transmitting to a joint destination. This so-called multiple-access channel (MAC) is highly relevant for wireless distributed storage networks, where peer users store data on their nodes, e.g., laptops and mobile phones, and participate in the data reconstruction and repair processes over a fading channel.
The talk is partly based on joint work with F. Lu and R. Vehkalahti, and partly on joint work with D. Karpuk and A. Barreal.
