EPW-sextics and their double covers

EPW-sextics are special sextic 4-dimensional hypersurfaces equipped with a double cover. The double cover of a generic EPW-sextic is a hyperkaehler deformation of the Hilbert square of a K3 surface. I will make the case that the family of EPW-sextics and their double covers is at least as interesting as the family of cubic 4-dimensional hypersurfaces.
