Generic semi-positivity of the orbifold cotangent bundle. Applications to moduli and foliations

We show (joint work with M. Paun) a version of Miyaoka’s generic semi-positivity for the cotangent bundle of projective manifolds for log-canonical oribifold pairs (X,D). From this, we deduce first, using [BCHM], a solution of ‘Shafarevich’s hyperbolicity conjecture’,which asserts that algebraic families of canonically polarised manifolds with maximal number of moduli have a base of Log-general type, and next (joint with E. Amerik) a description of non-uniruled divisors of holomorphically symplectic compact Kähler manifolds with algebraic characteristic foliation.
